charming little grindhouse horror offering. This cult horror classic was the first
film
to receive an "X" rating solely for its graphic violence. If you like a
little nudity with your gore, this fills the bill nicely, and does
provide some genuinely creepy moments.
Plot
Summary
A group of acid
eating satanic hippies have car trouble, and walk to the nearest town,
which is mostly deserted, as a damn is being built, and all the
residents except the ones with parts in the film have left town. A
bakery is still open, as the woman who owns it is doing the nasty with
the damn construction foreman, and her father is the town vet, a
necessary role as you will soon see. Grampa also has two grand kids
living with him, a young woman and a precocious pre-teen boy. The young
woman met one of the cult members, watched their opening ceremony, and
got roughed up by them.
The nasty hippies walk into town, buy some backed goods, then discover
that the town is deserted, and decide to move into a boarded up hotel.
To their delight, it is full of rats, which they frolic with for hours
hunting them. Grampa discovers that they are the ones that roughed up
his granddaughter, and goes over with a shotgun to teach them some
manners. They easily subdue him and feed him acid. His young grandson
takes a dim view of this grampa violation, and comes up with the
perfect revenge plot. He goes out and shoots a convenient rabid dog,
steals a hypo of the dogs blood, injects it into 12 meat pies in the
bakery, and sells it to the group the next morning. Now the story
really gets going, with a rabid acid-eating satanic hippy cult.
