What is Special about this DVD?
This erotic euro political sattire flick has become an absolute
cinimatic gem... probably largebly because it casted Laura Antonelli...
and thus the trashy footage (she shows it all) is of Laura Antonelli,
just before she became an Italian film diva the next year in "Malicious". This DVD presents the very rare film now
fully restored from elements recently discovered in a secret
underground vault near The Vatican! It is NTSC and is coded for all
regions.
Who is
Laura Antonelli?
Often compared to Sophia Loren, this Italian heart-throb was one of the
favorite actresses of the 70s. With a girl next door charm and simply
stunning physical features, whe was and is every mans perfect fantasy.

Plot Summary
An Italian senator, and a candidate to be the next president of Italy,
tries to find a cure to his uncontrollable sexual harassment urges
while a group of corrupt politicians linked to dangerous Vatican
officials try to keep the news under wraps.
Although originally marketed to the 1972 Italian movie going public as
a polical / soft porno trash flick, in an atempt to cash in at the box
office, its also seen as a sophisticated political satire film that
makes some very serious accusations about what is portrayed as the
reigning Italian political climate of the period, while hiding behind a
kind of absurdist slapstick humor and surrealist dreamscapes (dominated
by women's buttocks and nuns).
Lando Buzzanca (prominent Italian sex symbol of the era) brilliantly
interprets the archetypal Italian male - torn between the sacred and
the profane, sex and celibacy, the devil and holy water - in the role
of Senator Puppis, a political pawn who is putty in the hands of
connivving and corrupt priests and cardinals who use the Senator - and
soon President - to forward their bigoted and reactionary agenda.
The only catch is that the usually chaste Puppis can no longer ignore
his sexual urges and his insatiable sexual appetite begins to seriously
interfere with his political obligations and embarrass his mentor /
puppeteer (a fantastic Lionel Stander in the role of Cardinal Maravidi).
Laura Antonelli is also amazing in the role of the temptress nun who
threatens to Puppis away from politics altogether. She would soon
become an Italian movie diva for her role in "Malizia", released the following year.
Director Lucio Fulci (well-known outside of Italy for horror films like
"The Beyond") is the mastermind behind the film's brilliant ending
which takes the film beyond satire and straight into the grotesque.
